Cut fiber optic cables among list of Super Bowl 50 security concerns



It’s no secret that security will be tight at the 50th anniversary of the most anticipated annual sports event in the U.S

An internal FBI and Department of Homeland Security memo obtained by an NBC affiliate outlines some of the agencies’ biggest security concerns around Super Bowl 50 events in the California Bay Area.

NBC Washington reports the memo says, “The FBI and DHS have no information to indicate any specific, credible threats to or associated with Super Bowl 50 or related events.” But that hasn’t stopped the agencies from investigating some possible problems around the events leading up to and including the game, which will be played and aired on Sunday, Feb. 7.
